Are you indecisive?

Are you able to make a decision with a willingness to accept whatever happens?

Would you prefer not to do anything to avoid a potential unwanted outcome?

Take a minute, think back to your decisions, and whether you were ok with the end result or if there was a sense of regret.

We all have a choice. Although many people forget to realize that and feel stuck in this “have to” mindset. It’s our decisions that create our experience. However, if you are not willing to accept the consequences of those decisions then you will always feel like you are not in control of your life. You never truly take responsibility of your life.

How many times can you count saying, “I have to…?”

Think about it. It’s not that you actually have to but you choose to. You are choosing to in order to achieve a specific outcome. You may say, “Well I have to go to work. I have to pay my bills.” Well, you can always choose not to. However, with every decision there is a consequence.

The point I’m trying to make is we all have a choice. If you are not happy in your job, a relationship, or your physical health you can choose to do something about it or choose to leave it as is. No one is forcing you.

Do you want to get in better shape but don’t want to “have to” workout… well then guess what? You are choosing to remain overweight.

When you finally realize everything you do is a choice you take back your power to create the life that you want. Now, creating the life you want versus your current situation doesn’t mean it will be easy. However, it allows you to take full responsibility for your life as opposed to blaming the world around you.

The important questions to ask yourself are, “What do you want?” and “What are you willing to do for it?” By doing so, you can start to see your life in a new way. You start viewing it from a place of empowerment rather than playing the victim.

I hear so many people tell me how unhappy they are in various aspects of their lives but they refuse to make different decisions to change that. It’s like what do you expect then?

Like Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

If you are playing the “have to” game and it’s leading you down the road towards unhappiness, think about what you’ve been choosing to do currently. What can you choose to do moving forward to start creating a more desirable life experience and begin taking control of your life?

Now it’s your turn.

How does this quote inspire you?

Tell me about an experience where you said you “have to” do something. What was it about and if you chose a different decision, what would have been the result? Are you able to see that you have the power of choice and that your life experience is your responsibility?
