Interested or committed?
Do you have a hobby or a passion?
Do you just dabble or are you all in?
Take some time to think about what it is you want to do in your life or what it is you enjoy doing in your spare time. Determine what your commitment level was. Or was it something you focused on once every so often?
This quote by Ken Blanchard makes you think hard about what you want and what you are doing about it. We often say we want something or we love doing something all of the time but how much time do we actually spend focusing on it or pursuing it.
I suppose my commitment level to various things was below 100% when looking back over the years.
I mean, if I was so committed to it, focusing all of my attention on it would be effortless, right. Maybe they were simply hobbies that I was merely interested in and had no intention of going all in when push came to shove.
I feel most of us go through life just “interested” in a lot of things and not fully committing to something. Think about it. Is there any one thing that you would wake up early and go to bed late for in order to do it? If you answer yes then what is it and are you making that commitment to it now?
Take a step back and begin to evaluate your current situation. You may see the need to rearrange a few aspects of your life and prioritize things a bit differently. When doing this, go easy on yourself. Discovering things you thought were commitments but were simply interests can be slightly disheartening.
Start taking inventory and decide which ones you want to fully commit to and go all in. Do not settle for anything less or let excuses get in your way or hold you back.
Remember, it does not come down to saying there is not enough time. It is about making decisions. You will make the decision to have the time needed to focus on it, if fully committed.
Now it’s your turn.

Tell me about something that you thought you were committed to but it ended up being an interest.
Is there anything now that you will make a full commitment to? Something you will pursue, no matter what, in order to succeed.
