What are your beliefs?
Are they allowing you to be who you want to be?
On the other hand, are they holding you back from achieving greatness?
Take some time to examine your current beliefs and question if they are in alignment with the person you want to be or if they belonged to someone else that you inherited are you grew up.
This quote by Jennifer Ho-Dougatz can be a shocker for many people because when you question one’s beliefs you challenge their identity of who they think they are. If someone is unable to look at their current belief system and question whether it is truly who they are, it will be hard for them to accept any outside perspective.
Our beliefs navigate how we see the world, our interactions with others, and how we view ourselves. Our beliefs dictate how we live our lives. However, they also have the power to keep us from being the best version of ourselves.
Can you recall a moment in your life where your belief about who you were or what you were not capable of kept you frozen from trying something new or taking a risk?
What was that belief? Where did it come from? Is it still valid today?
The minute you change your beliefs, your whole life will change.
One of the most powerful self-discoveries I made for myself was to look at my current beliefs and ask why. Why do I have a specific belief and is it serving me positively or negatively.
One major self-limiting belief I have carried around for the majority of my life and still working on extinguishing is the belief that I am not enough. I think many people suffer from that belief as well.
Have you allowed that belief to hold you down? I did.
It can be crippling for sure and the problem with it is it is complete bullshit. As kids, we do not have any limiting beliefs holding us back. However, somewhere along the way, imprinted on to us are those beliefs by family, peers, or society… It robs us of our personal power.
If you have had that belief at some point or possibly now still have it, what has it robbed you from achieving in your life?
Are you ready to now take a stand and reclaim your personal power? Our beliefs will only continue to limit us if we allow them to.
Start making a list of all those beliefs you have been carrying around with you and make the decision for yourself whether or not they are serving you in a positive way. Decide if you want to continue to hold on to those or to remove them.
No one can tell you what to believe. You have the power to choose for yourself.
Now it’s your turn.
How does this quote inspire you?
Tell me about a belief you’ve been holding on to that has limited you in some way. What was your experience and how has it affected your life-to-date? Are you ready to eliminate it for good and create more empowering beliefs about who you are?
