Are you embracing your life as it is in the present moment?

Are you still holding on to past memories?

Do you constantly wish your life were different from what it actually is?

Take some time and determine if you are embracing and accepting your reality as it is right now, today, or if you are still holding on to a previous life experience or certain expectations that are currently not happening.

This quote by Jack Welch is about accepting your life as it is in the present moment. Not how it was yesterday, a week ago, or a year ago. Not how you wish it was or want it to be. But how it is right now. This applies to all areas of your life, health, wealth, love.

Yet how many people choose to continue to experience emotional pain and distress because they are refusing to accept how their life is in this moment. They are choosing to hold on to moments from years past or upset their life isn’t what they thought it would be. That will only weigh you down and keep you stuck.

Think about it. Yes, there may be people, experiences, or things that you may miss and you wish you had them back. I have those moments too. However, this is what I got right now. I have to make the best of what is right in front of me and decide how I am going to be from this point on.

No amount of you wanting or wishing it to be the way it once was will change the fact of what it is right now. It’s that refusing to accept things as they are that continues to cause pain and heartache preventing you from moving forward and growing.

So, if you are having a hard time with this, take this approach.

In those moments, when you are struggling, practice gratitude and appreciation. Be thankful for your experiences. You will always have those memories and you can always access the feelings associated with it.

Now it’s time to put those aside and take care of you in this moment.

That doesn’t mean it’s not ever going to happen again, it’s just not happening right now.

Realizing and accepting that is empowering!

Now it’s your turn.

How does this quote inspire you?

Tell me about an experience where perhaps there was undesired change in your life. Did you refuse to accept your new circumstances? If so, how did that affect your thoughts and your emotional state? Were you able to eventually come to terms with your new reality and move forward? Or were you holding on to how things used to be?
